As well known toughened laminated glass is also called safety glass. There are three interlayers used for laminated glass, EVA, PVB and SGP. Laminated glass with SGP film (sentry glass) is especially safety that considered as the most security glass in the building glass world. It is also very expensive that only some uper grade buildings can afford the cost.

At the begining, SGP film is created specially for hurricane area, such as Miami of United States. Normally toughened laminated glass with EVA or PVB in hurricane have change of broken by wind pressure. The broken glass fall down to the ground in one piece. But change to laminated glass with SGP film, the glass is higher strength. It may also be broken, but after broken it will not fall down to ground. The SGP film is super elastic, it back to the shape quickly and so give continue protection in hurricane. 

SGP is so safety but it is not suggested that the whole building been covered by SGP laminated glass. This is because SGP laminated glass is too security that once accident happened inside of the building, it is very hard to get help from external. The accidence includes fire.
